Silviculture Crew Leader

Currently, we are looking for a Crew Leader to join our Silviculture team at our Grande Prairie, Alberta division for an 11 month temporary contract.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervision of planting, backpack herbicide, aerial herbicide, and site preparation activities to ensure they are in compliance with Canfor’s safety, environmental, and quality standards.
  • Supervise silviculture Field Assistants
  • Crew Leader will also be involved in completion of post-harvest prescriptions, surveys, and be involved in the updating of key Silviculture databases after completion of activities.

Required Skills:

  • A Forestry related degree or diploma
  • A minimum of 6 months experience working in a Forestry related capacity; preference will be given to those with experience in Silviculture
  • Excellent communication skills and an ability to perform physically demanding fieldwork in a team environment
  • A valid Class 5 driver’s license
