Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate; Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) Certificate; Hydrogen Sulphide Awareness (H2S) Certificate; First Aid Certificate

Equipment and Machinery Experience: Feller buncher

Required Experience: 5 years or more

Additional Skills: Clean up landing areas at logging sites; Assist other logging and forestry workers; Write daily basic progress reports

Weight Handling: Up to 45 kg (100 lbs)

Type of Logging: Selective cutting; Clear cutting (patch logging)

Type of Harvesting: Logs and poles

Security and Safety: Bondable; Driver’s validity licence check; Drug test

Own Tools/Equipment: Steel-toed safety boots

Work Site Environment: Outdoors; Noisy

Transportation/Travel Information: Vehicle supplied by employer; Willing to travel; Valid driver’s licence

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Work under pressure; Handling heavy loads; Attention to detail; Hand-eye co-ordination; Combination of sitting, standing, walking; Bending, crouching, kneeling; Tight deadlines

Cable Yarding System Operators Specific Skills: Operate machines to transport trees from logging areas to landing or log loading sites in mountainous terrain

Mechanical Harvester and Forwarder Operators Specific Skills:

Assess site and terrain and drive heavy equipment to perform a combination of felling, slashing, bucking, bunching and forwarding operations

Mechanical Tree Processor and Loader Operators Specific Skills: Operate a variety of machines which perform a combination of slashing, bucking, chipping, sorting and loading logs or trees

Compensation

$32.00 hourly for 40 hours per week
