Description

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager the successful candidate will be responsible for managing mechanical maintenance in the Utilities & Chemicals section of the mill. The Maintenance Team Leader has 29 maintenance technicians reporting in 2 work teams.

 Responsibilities:

  • Support Weyerhaeuser’s safety values as both a leader and an employee.
  • Provide day to day leadership for mechanical maintenance activities in the Utilities & Chemicals section of the mill.
  • Responsible for maintenance results including safety, work standards, costs, and reliability.
  • Develop and execute plans to continuously improve maintenance results.
  • Manage 18 millwright mechanics and 11 welders.

Qualifications

  • The successful candidate will have at least 5 years experience in a maintenance supervisory position in heavy industry.  The minimum education requirement is a Journey level Millwright. A Mechanical Engineering Degree or Diploma is preferred.
  • In addition the candidate will require:
  • A strong commitment to working safely and protecting the safety of others
  • A record of providing coaching and leadership to others
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Experience in maintaining Recovery/Power Boilers and Recausticizing equipment is preferred
  • Experience with SAP and Microsoft Project is preferred
