Alberta Wildfire: Lookout Observer

Job Classification: Lookout 1

Salary Range: $20.91 – $25.66 per hour

Length of employment: As needed by the department, but generally April to September

A Lookout Observer’s first priority is to provide early detection and accurate reporting of potential forest fires. Lookouts provide continuous observation until fire control personnel arrive at the fire location. There are 128 Lookout towers located throughout the province.
