Our Hinton Division is seeking individuals with strong technical, leadership, planning, organization and interpersonal skills to fill the following position:

ELECTRICAL TECHNOLOGIST

Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, the Electrical Technologist will be a key player in a company-wide continuous improvement effort through daily use of predictive and preventative maintenance strategies. As a member of this high performing team you will be responsible for working safely within the pulp mill.

The successful candidate will possess:

  • Electrician certification and experience is an asset
  • A valid diploma from a credited post-secondary institution is required
  • Experience in an industrial environment with VFDs, PLCs, MCCs, HMIs
  • Experience with various electrical systems (600V-13.8kV)
  • Excellent interpersonal and team building skills
  • Demonstrated problem solving, troubleshooting and analytical skills

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Maintain a safe work environment
  • Ensure consistent operations of all electrical equipment
  • Analysis, verification, and documentation of repairs
  • Motor control and PLC systems programming, design, and maintenance
  • Strong organizational, and communication skills, methodical task focus
  • A desire for growth potential into a Technical Lead position would be ideal
