Woodlands – Silviculture Summer Student Positions

Millar Western is looking for enthusiastic, committed individuals to work as part of a respected Woodlands team responsible for supplying fibre to our Boyle sawmill while upholding progressive, sustainable forest management practices.

These positions start May 2, 2016, and offer great development opportunities and career potential.

Silviculture Assistants (2) – 4-month terms, start 05/02/16 To supervise and oversee quality control of tree planting; assist with block layout, conifer-release spray programs and planting-stock quality monitoring; conduct silvicultural surveys; GPS data collection and data entry.

The ideal candidates Candidates should be enrolled in or graduates of a post-secondary forest or forest technology program. Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills would be highly valued.
