Edson OSB Mill has an opening for an IT Infrastructure Specialist with strong technical and leadership capabilities. This role is suitable for a highly motivated, team oriented, self-directed key contributor to provide a broad range of IT support to Edson and other sites within our Wood Products organization. The incumbent will have the opportunity to be exposed to a broad set of end-to-end technology solutions.

The Edson facility is located in central Alberta. Edson has a population of 8,646 (2012 Municipal Census) and has a full range of recreational and cultural facilities. Qualifications

  • Four-year degree in information technology, electrical or computer engineering or equivalent combination of education and/or experience
  • Three to five years’ experience preferred in a primary manufacturing production environment
  • Three to five years’ experience in technical administration of PCs, Printing, Server Management, with demonstrated broad-based technical abilities – Network skills preferred: Route, Switch, Firewall/Security, Wireless, Circuit Management, Voice, VPN, general infrastructure etc.
  • Facilitation and problem-solving skills and the ability to learn new technologies in a fast-paced environment

Highly Valued Skills:

  • Microsoft certifications – MCITP – MS Certified IT Professional, MCDST – MS Certified Desktop Support Technician, MCP – MS Certified Professional
  • CCNA – Certified Cisco Network Associate
  • Experience interfacing with or supporting infrastructure needs of a process-control environment
  • Knowledge of statistical methods
