Millar Western is looking to hire an experienced Journeyman Electrician to work at its sawmill in Whitecourt, Alberta. Reporting to the Electrical Superintendent, the Journeyman Electrician will be a key member of the maintenance team, responsible for maintaining and installing all equipment relating to power and controls.

The ideal candidate

Qualified candidates will hold an inter-provincial Electrical Journeyman certificate and possess a strong background in electronics, Variable Frequency drives, PLC’s, network systems, computer and optimizing systems. They will have a proven record of accomplishment in their trade and possess strong communication, organizational and trouble-shooting skills, as well as an ability to work in a team environment.

An Electrical Maintenance/Instrumentation Technologist certificate and/or 3 to 5 years of experience in a sawmill environment would be definite assets.
