Our Hinton Division is seeking individuals with strong technical, leadership, planning, organization and interpersonal skills to fill the following position:

POWER ENGINEER (2ND OR 3RD CLASS)

Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring the Power & Recovery Crews are adequately trained for the proper performance of their duties and have a full understanding of their responsibilities.
  • Coordinating and managing the shift to shift quality, production, and maintenance efforts. Shift Engineers are expected to manage the shift production resources, interface with other departments, and trouble shoot any operational or quality difficulties.
  • Supervising shift crews in the application of approved procedures and policies within the Power & Recovery Operations.
  • Communicating with the Power & Recovery Area Maintenance to ensure that maintenance or repair work is identified and carried out properly.

The successful candidate must:

  • Possess a valid Alberta or Interprovincial 2nd Class Certificate; or possess a 3rd Class Certificate with proof you are actively working towards a 2nd Class Certificate.Have Supervisory experience in an industrial setting.
  • Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Be highly organized with superior analytical skills.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work independently, and as part of a team.
  • Possess a desire to progress, learn and succeed.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with work experience in Kraft Operations; other industrial experience will be considered.
