Instructional Designer

Weyerhaeuser, a pulp manufacturing facility located at Grande Prairie, AB is looking for an Instructional Designer to join its team.  In this role, you will work to build and manage programs that support leadership development for employees staff at all levels of the organization to initiate change and achieve organizational targets.

Key Functions:

  • Create and develop learning material, training presentations and e-learning modules
  • Review current documentations; design and modify it to interactive learning modules
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts for clarification on content and modify as per instructions
  • Recommend best practice criteria for learning materials and learning strategies, activities, assessments, simulations     and resources
  • Facilitate front-end training need analysis and suggest appropriate learning methodology
  • Convert technical instructions into easy to learn training modules
  • Other projects and responsibilities may be added at the company’s discretion.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Diploma or certificate in Instructional Design (required)
  • Diploma or certificate in adult learning (asset)
  • E-learning Certification (asset)

Knowledge Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of adult learning principles, e-learning best practices and instructional design

Experience & Attributes:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in developing content as per instructional design principles, operating and designing knowledge of “Articulate Storyline 2” and adobe products.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Capability to visualize and create design from reading material
  • Amazing sense of detail and capability to read between the lines
  • Excellent team player; outgoing and cherishing personality
  • Consultative and collaborative approach
