FORESTRY PLANNER

Job Description:
Reporting to the Planning Forester, the Forestry Planner will have responsibility for the development of harvest plans required to operate on company tenures.  Specific duties will include timber and access reconnaissance, GIS design work, GPS block and road layout, supervision of contract layout, liaison with government, First Nations, Trappers, oil and gas operators and other stakeholders.  Other duties will include coordination with harvest and silviculture phases. This position offers a balanced mix of field and office work.

Requirements:
The ideal candidate for this position will be eligible or registered as Forest Practitioner in Alberta as a RPF or RFT. Experience as an operational planner or equivalent is required. This should include good GIS skills. Cable logging design would also be strong asset.
